Constance Reid - Fine Art Photographic Artist

With an adventurous spirit, insatiable wanderlust and a passion for road tripping, I love being outdoors and exploring all the places my heart, wheels and passport lead me.  With camera in hand, photography has become a compelling means to exploration.  It is much more than a passionate, creative outlet.  It seems essential my soul.  I am driven by my personal mantra, "A grateful heart sits at a continual feast."  I believe that the more you are willing to see and feast upon with your eyes and heart, the more there is - thus, my love affair with the camera.  As I seek to express the emotional response I experience being in a place and become totally immersed in doing so, I find myself in a state of mindfulness...nearly a meditation.  That mindfulness gives birth to a feeling of peace and immense appreciation and gratitude for both the complexity and simplicity of the world we live in.

I was given my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, when I was eight years old.  Since that time, I have enjoyed documenting my life and sharing my view of the world.  My first serious work was in 35mm and 4x5 film.  I fell in love with the chemical magic that would take place in the darkroom and would thrill with the prospect of spending an afternoon there.  With digital imaging I realized the endless possibilities it presented by allowing me to "create" art with my camera in a way that wasn't possible before.  I began to absorb myself in learning all I could about this timeless medium through self-study, numerous classes, workshops, and endless hours of experimentation.

Home for me is now in Colorado. I am blessed that this passion has presented me with numerous awards and recognition.  I am gratified that my work hangs in public and private collections throughout the world.
